The Green Book
This document has been produced in consultation with editors and press and broadcasting organisations as a general guide to the procedures that the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (MOD) will adopt in working with the media throughout the full spectrum of military operations. It covers the practical arrangements for enabling correspondents to report on operations, including the MOD's plans for representative numbers of correspondents to accompany British Forces and sets out what editors can expect from the MOD and what the MOD seeks from the media.

IFRC- Stay Safe - International Federation's Guide to a Safer Mission
A 2008 publication on security, where the IFRC recognizes that natural disasters are increasingly occuring in areas with complex political and social circumstances that change rapidly and can have an impact on its humanitarian operations. There is a further Guide for Security Managers that should be also be consulted.

A 2001 initiative on security of national staff members.

Offers the Relief Medic course designed for people who are interested in emergency care where advanced hospital equipment and supplies are absent and where disease and traumatic injuries are specific to third world conditions.
NGO Security
A Blog about safety and security incidents and issues that impact humanitarian organizations. Their resource pages are well done, take a look at their collection of NGO and Security Manuals. There is also a clever series of YouTube clips (‘Do-it-yourself internet training’) that can be used to animate security training sessions.
